BAAQMD Regulation 9 Rule 6

As of 11-07-07 the Bay Area Air Quality Management District
(BAAQMD) has passed Regulation 9 Inorganic Gaseous Pollutants Rule 6 Nitrogen
Oxides Emissions from Natural Gas-Fired Boilers and Water Heaters which
requires:
| NOx emissions limits for 75,001 - 400,00 Btu/Hr |
- 40 ng/joule (55 ppm NOx @ 3%
O2) effective 1/1/2008
|
- 14 ng/joule (20 ppm NOx @ 3%
O2) effective 1/1/2013
|
| NOx
emissions limits for 400,001 – 2,000,000 Btu/Hr |
- 20 ng/joule (30 ppm NOx @ 3%
O2) effective 1/1/2008
|
- 14 ng/joule (20 ppm NOx @ 3%
O2) effective 1/1/2013
|
| Any boiler that is going to be installed after the specified datesmust comply to the new emissions regulations.
Boilers sold within these districts are going to be held to these standards. |
The District's jurisdiction encompasses all of seven counties -
Alameda
, Contra Costa, Marin,
San
Francisco
,
San Mateo
,
Santa Clara
and
Napa
, and
portions of two others - southwestern Solano and southern
Sonoma
.
In order for us to sell any boiler that falls under these
regulations, the manufacturer must have their equipment certified by the South
Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD).

FOR COMPLIANCE PURPOSE
The provision of Rule 1146.2 (f)(1)&(2) requires
that manufacturers should display
the certification STATUS on new or retrofit water heaters and/or boilers.
