BAAQMD Regulation 9 Rule 7

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) is currently processing Regulation 9 Inorganic Gaseous Pollutants Rule 7 Nitrogen Oxides and Carbon Monoxide from Industrial Institutional, and Commercial Boilers, Steam Generators, and Process Heaters. This regulation identifies these guidelines:
| NOx emissions limits for 2,000,001 Btu/Hr – 10,000,000 Btu/Hr. | |

| NOx emissions limits for 10,000,001 – 20,000,000 Btu/Hr | |
|
|
| NOx emissions limits for > 20,000,001 Btu/Hr. | |
|
The BAAQMD expects all existing boilers within its jurisdiction (reference area map) to retro-fit their boiler by 2010, 2012, or 2014 depending on the size of the boiler and fuel being burned. All boilers will need to be third party source tested and will have documented compliance certification.

The District's jurisdiction encompasses all of seven counties - Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Napa, and portions of southwestern Solano and southern Sonoma.
