RF MacDonald Company - Boiler Service Pressure Vessel Welder Trainee

R. F. MacDonald Co. has an entry-level opening for a Boiler Service Pressure Vessel Welder - Trainee in our Boiler Service Department for the noted office location. If applicant is able to demonstrate dedication and a willingness to learn, this job could lead to an opportunity to train as a Boiler Service Pressure Vessel Welder.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere.
Must be capable of working as an assistant to one of our certified welders for repairs on boilers and pressure vessels.
Repair and/or replace refractory, gaskets, parts, and miscellaneous controls. Prior experience is not required but as a minimum an interest to learn these skills is expected.
Assist in the performance of hydrostatic pressure testing of boilers.
Must be detail oriented in completing work orders, all required forms, summaries, and checklist daily or as required in procedures manual.
Must have strong language skills as well as ability to learn industry specific vocabulary.
Basic mathematics.
Must have good reasoning and problem solving skills.
Must be willing to work hard and be enthusiastic about what you do.

Education & Experience Requirements:
High school diploma required. No prior experience in the boiler industry is required. Aptitude with mechanical equipment and prior hands on experience is expected.

Other Requirements:
A valid driver’s license is required. Must be insurable with no major infractions. Job will require some travel. Applicants must pass an initial and subsequent random drug screening tests.
