Industrial Application Guide

Solvent Transfer
Transferring a non lubricating solvent from a truck to the processing facility can be tricky. Why? because of the impact that the lack of lubricity can have on the life of a pump's internal parts.  Also, since solvents can be very expensive, any liquid left in the pipe or tanks is lost profit.  It is very important to install a pump that will maintain steady flow under varying pressures and that will also line strip* when the tank is empty.

(*Line strip: to run the pump after the tank is empty to remove as much residue from the intake piping as possible.)

What pumps meet all of the above criteria"? blackmer GX and X modes!

Typically most solvents will have a viscosity about 30 SSU or less at 70°F.  Many applications are being pumped at less than 50psi working pressure. Watch the Vapor Pressure!

Customers enjoy using blackmer pumps due to low maintenance. Typical "mean time between maintenance" (MTBM) can be as long as 2-3 years.  When the pump requires a set of new vanes to return to "as new" efficiency, only a few minutes of downtime - with the pump remaining in the piping - is necessary.

All GX and X pumps are found in the IS Available Currently (ISAC) program.
