Pumps are increasingly becoming components of integrated systems in order to provide better control and efficiency of system processes, and conserve manpower. Goulds Pumps, for example, has developed “Pump Smart™” an integrated pump control system based on predetermined pump operating characteristics and VFD drives in lieu of control valves. As a result, and in an effort to help lead the way, we have also become systems and controls specialists. 

Many of our sales and service personnel have been trained to specialize in this area to ensure that we properly serve our customers needs and to promote new and better ideas.  Combining these skills with our traditional skills required to properly apply and keep pumps up and running has created a very unique industry where diversified experience counts.  R.F. MacDonald Co. has that experience. 

• QUALIFICATIONS. 
• Facilities and capabilities for the overhaul and repair of all types of liquid handling pumps.
• Factory trained personnel and certified warranty centers for all manufacturers we represent. 
• Shop and field service personnel specialize in:
• Laser alignments
• In-house machining and fabrication
• Mechanical seal failure diagnosis and repair
• Material upgrades
• Preventive maintenance programs
• Installations and start-up
• Engineered Upgrades.  We’ll turn your old, obsolete pump into like new condition, rebuilt to current specifications.
• General-engineering contractors license (A-1) and holders of the ASME “S”, “U” and “PP” stamps. Our certified welders are involved in pump system fabrication and installations. 

• AVAILABILITY. R. F. MacDonald Co. maintains pump service departments in our Hayward, Modesto, and Fresno offices each staffed with field service and support personnel.  Our multiple locations with service personnel living in key areas allow fast response for all areas we serve. 

• PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE. Our preventive maintenance contracts are tailored to provide specific periodic inspections and service to minimize down time and maximize efficiency.  Customers participating in this program receive a parts discount for all covered equipment. 

• TRAINING.  Our total commitment to customer satisfaction doesn’t end with the sale.  We schedule periodic training seminars to provide maximum benefit from your equipment. R.F. MacDonald Co. also represents the Goulds Pumps Pro Service Center, Pump Repair & Overhaul Shop, City of Industry, CA.  This relationship allows our combined services capabilities to respond to all of your pump and rotating equipment repair needs.  

• Machining: Capable of all major machining functions.  Horizontal & vertical boring mills and lathe capacity up to 10 feet with a 34” swing.
• Dynamic Balancing: 5000 pound, 60”.
• Hydrostatic Testing: 2000 psi.
• Non-Destructive Testing: Dye penetrate, magnetic particle, ultrasonic & x-ray available. 
• Non-Destructive Testing: Available through Goulds on-site manufacturing facility.
