FULTON THERMAL FLUID HEATERS

----------
Qualifies for Reduced Boiler Operator Attendance

Fulton has been designing and engineering thermal fluid heaters for over 40 years, but they are becoming increasingly more popular in California due to the reduced requirements for operator attendance.

About Thermal Fluid Heaters
Thermal fluid heaters use a hot oil system that operates in a closed loop circulation system with minimal pressure. These thermal fluid systems can reach temperatures of 750°F, making them an ideal choice for many process heat applications, including food, chemical and pharmaceutical processing.

Thermal Fluid vs Steam Systems
The choice between a steam system or a thermal fluid system is governed by the process requirements. The range or process temperature is a deciding factor. If the system’s required temperature is above 32°F and below ~350°F, the choice is usually steam. However if the required temperature is outside of that range then thermal fluid may be a better solution for the facility.

Reduced Boiler Operator Requirements
California Title 8 regulations specify and require that a boiler operator must be available in order to shut down high pressure steam boilers and fired pressure vessels in case of emergencies. Since the Fulton Fluid Thermal heaters consist of unfired steam generators, they do not require a dedicated full time boiler operator under Title 8 regulations. For some facilities this can be an efficient and cost effective option.
