Taco Comfort Solutions Gains Health Industry OSHPD Seismic Certification for Vertical In-Line Pumps with ProBalance Technology

Unit Mounting Description: The unit was mounted to the wall fixture using (4) ¼” Grade 5 bolts, 1.6” x 1.6” x 0.3” carbon steel plate washers, flat washers, and channel nuts. The ¼” bolts were spaced 8.5” apart in the side-side direction, and 15.8” apart in the vertical direction. For UUT-01a the wall fixture was mounted rigidly to the shake table. For UUT-01b the wall frame was mounted to the shake table using (4) VMC MSSH-1E-650 isolators.

HCAI Special Seismic Certification Preapproval (OSP)

HCAI regulates the design and construction of healthcare facilities, and oversees all aspects of the design and construction of general acute care hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, skilled nursing homes, and intermediate care. HCAI also provides finance tools for capital projects.
OSHPD was responsible for monitoring the construction, renovation, and seismic safety of hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. OSHPD also provided loan insurance to help with the capital needs of California’s not-for-profit healthcare facilities.

Note, on Aug. 4, 2021, OSHPD became HCAI after the Governor’s budget recognized that OSHPD’s portfolio had grown and needed to become a department
