Hygienic Self-Priming, Close-Coupled Pump

The PROLAC HCP SP is a self-priming variant of the HPC pump, making it particularly suitable for pumping liquids containing air or gas without losing its pumping capacity. Ideally used in the food-processing, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, but mainly used for its CIP cleaning system.

  • MOTOR
  • Triphasic induction motor with B5 flange and B3 legs, in compliance with the IEC standard while reaching up to 3600 rpm

  • OPERATION
  • The PROLAC HCP SP is a self-priming pump that eliminates the need for a vacuum pump or other devices such as foot valves or additional pipes.
    The pump needs to be primed with liquid only once before start up. When the pump is turned on, it sucks the air or gas present in the suction pipe, mixing it with the liquid in the pump body. The centrifugal forces push the mixture of liquid and gas towards the separator tank where it loses speed. Because of gravity, the liquid remains at the bottom of the separator tank and is driven back to the pump body through the return pipe, while the air or gas is released through the discharge pipe. In this way, the air or gas is continuously being removed from the suction pipe until the liquid reaches the pump body and the pump begins to operate like a normal centrifugal pump.

  • CONSTRUCTION
  • The PROLAC HPS SP has the same components as the PROLAC HCP standard pump construction, but adds a separator tank and a non-return valve to ensure higher levels of efficiency

  • CLOSE-COUPLED DESIGN
  • Compact, close-coupled design is ideal for space-saving installation

  • MECHANICAL SEAL
  • An internal, single mechanical seal is balanced and has a hygienic design, and then, as standard, the stationary part is in carbon, the rotary part in silicon carbide, and the gaskets are in EPDM. However, when required, other material can be used.

  • DOUBLE SEAL OPTION
  • Optional assembly of a double mechanical seal made of two identical seals helps to upgrade a pump not only by doubling the seal, but also by simplifying the management of necessary spare parts as the seal is the same
